Valuable lessons learnt from my life’s experiences
"Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced -- even a proverb is no proverb to you till your life has illustrated it."
-- John Keats
• Smile always. This is because humans from the time of evolution tend to connect with those who are pleasant in nature and when we smile it erases all the unanswered questions about a person (even if it is sometimes pretence). It is quite evolutionary that people feel comfortable with those who are smiling all the time than those who are frowning...

• Will no longer take online communities seriously (this is my personal opinion). This is because if you want to be friends with somebody, it is better to be friends in person (go to café with them or get together and speak your heart out) than through these virtual connections. We humans are social animals, so it only makes sense to continue like that. I know many people via online communities whom I seldom meet, so what’s the point? But there are some connections via online communities, whom I would like to meet in future and in person. So this is only the positive thing about online communities and that is we get to know some interesting people.
• Whatever you do, do it for yourself and do not bother what others think about it. If you are convinced of what you are doing is the right thing for you, then you can win anything. If we do something or say something just to convince others then it is very likely that “that somebody” might not like it, there is this possibility too. So if the targeted audience do not like it then you will be unhappy. Every human opinion is based of their own experiences, the environment they are living in and the people they are connected to. So we cannot expect the right and convincing opinions all the time (especially via online communities, it will be a disaster!!). If you do then you are always lost.
• If we are living in a place which is society based, make sure you stand up to what you say and what you do. India might be society based country, but it is also a democratic country. So if you want to stand on something (what you say and actions you do (legal of course)) you can, but you should be strong enough to believe that!
Cheers.

• There is no point in losing temper for small and unwanted conversations. Losing temper only makes us lose the stand of what we wanted to convey.

ReplyDeleteNice! I totally agree to your point.
ReplyDeletegood one Bhavana
ReplyDeleteloved it
first and second points - agreed.
ReplyDeletethird - I think it is incomplete. "we get to know some interesting people". Not just knowing them, but there would be exchange of valuable thoughts, sometimes a lot to learn..! without physical meeting, don't we exchange so many thoughts -was it not mind meeting?
fourth - I agree, in my opinion- where there is "conditional way of approach" disappointment is mandatory.
its my personal opinion, Bhavana..

ReplyDeleteI would also like to meet you too when I visit bangalore next time, likewise I would like to meet some of my kannada blog connections too. I would like to develop this into friendship.
Thats the reason I have mentioned in this post that "But there are some connections via online communities, whom I would like to meet in future and in person. So this is only the positive thing about online communities and that is we get to know some interesting people"..
:)
Very nicely put Bhawna. And I always like to say a smile is a curve that sets a lot things straight.
ReplyDeleteAbout the online community, I have made some wonderful friends through the social networking forum. People who I otherwise would never had met. But yea, never mistake them for real life relationships.
And yes, never compromise on your happiness.
A nice post. Online communities have to be carefully cultivated too; and yes there are many people out there whom one would love to meet and get to know in person.
ReplyDeleteI would however like to qualify the 'whatever you do' point a little. We of course must not bother about what people will think, but think if our actions will be detrimental to someone else.
great ways to live a quality life and thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteWhat you have said is very right, agree 100%
ReplyDelete@ Purba, surely you are right, there are some nice people whom we will never meet but through online..
ReplyDelete@ Zyphr, Pratibha and Bhagyareema, welcome to my blog :) thanks a lot..
