How many of you have read Indian census 2011 report already?? If not then grab your census data.


The Indian Census is the most credible source of information on Demography (Population characterstics), Economic Activity, Literacy and Education, Housing & Household Amenities, Urbanisation, Fertility and Mortality, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Language, Religion, Migration, Disability and many other socio-cultural and demographic data since 1872. Census 2011 will be the 15th National Census of the Country. This is the only source of primary data in the village ,town and ward level, It provides valuable information for planning and formulation policies for Central and the State Governments and is widely used by National and International Agencies, Scholars, business people, industrialists, and many more.

The Delimitation/reservation of Constituencies- Parliamentary/Assembly/Panchayats and other Local Bodies is also done on the basis of the demographic data thrown up by the Census. Census is te basis for reviewing the country's progress in the past decade, monitoring the on going Schemes of the Goverment and most importantly , plan for the future. That is why the Slogan is " Our Census - Our Future".

The Census indicated a continuing preference for male children over female children. The latest child sex ratio is 914 female against 1,000 male -- the lowest since Independence.

I did some simple calculation:

Ratio:

1000 Males :  915(rounded) females

Deficit: 85 Females

For every 1000 males there are minus 85 females.

Population: 1200000000  (approximately)    à 6000000 males
Therefore, 1:1 ratio                                   à 6000000  females

So,

= > (85/1000)*6000000 (females)
= > 510000 females are deficit for our Indian population.

So there can possibly be two consequences:

1)     If we take it positively, girls will be in high demand and this turns the clock in their favor.
2)      Due to this deficiency in female numbers, there can be more attacks on women, rapes and so on.

    With the emergence of Technology and Internet in the coming years, I think men may find newer way of satisfaction or relationships. I think the possibility of third chances are more.

Birthday cravings

“What do you want for your birthday?” he asked “A smartphone” I replied to him. Kiran rolled his eyes again as we had had this discussion for about four or five times during this year. Each time we had had this discussion, Kiran had opened my eyes to the ‘fact’ that a smartphone was a waste of time and money. So we decided to go on hiking to one of the famous mountain ranges in Czech Republic called Beskydy. This particular village is called Horni (Upper) Lomna. We stayed in a local lodge where the owners of the Lodge celebrated Christmas with few of their closest customers and friends. We were fortunate enough to be considered one among them during that occasion. There we met a couple; the Lady a folklorist called Marta Gelnarova and the Gentleman, her present husband who was a former Slovak Pilot. This lady is half Polish and Half Czech and born in 1942.
