Introduction to the Czech Republic
Czech Republic borders on Poland to the northeast, Germany to the west, Austria to the south, and Slovakia to the east. The capital and largest city is Prague (Czech: Praha). The country is composed of the historic regions of Bohemia and Moravia, as well as parts of Silesia. The English spelling Czech derives from the Polish spelling of the original Čech. Czech Republic is a beautiful country. Formerly called Czecoslovakia. This was then divided into Czech republic and Slovakia Republic. It was under communist regime from 1948 to 1989. The division of Czechoslovakia happened in 1993. The official language of Czech Republic is, guess, yes its Czech. It sounds sweet and musical. In Europe people are proud of their languages. It is a joy to watch them feeling proud of thier languages. Here in Czech people read a lot.
