Teenage Heartache? Or was it?? Part 2

Find Part 1 here My newly found uncle became quite close to us and we started to visit each other during festivals and functions and so on. My uncle speaks a lot and and my family was silent lot and used to just smile and nod to whatever he used to say. My aunt is a sweet lady and very soft spoken and also used to pull my uncle's leg sometimes which used to give me quite a laugh! My uncle had also introduced me to one of the famous singer in Mysore Dr. R. N Srilatha with whom I started to learn senior lessons in carnatic music. So whenever I used to visit my uncle and aunt, my job was to sing for them. I was more than happy to do so... During one festival day (cannot remember which festival it was) We had visited my uncle and aunt's home (they had invited us) and for that day I had finished my part of singing for them and was watching some program on television. Then there was a knock on the door and I went to open it and when I opened, I froze literally. The...

My teenage heartache!- Part 1

My first serious crush was not on Shah Rukh Khan from then block buster “Baazigar” and “DDLJ” nor it was on Salman Khan of “Maine pyar kiya” fame. But it was on this man from one of the > then famous music album<  called “Gori Naal Ishq ko mitta” Yes, it was Jas Arora. W hen I saw him for the first time I was literally "crushed". I cannot remember cursing anybody more than Malaika Arora.  Ah!! his dimpled smile, his piercing eyes hit me hard on my head and else where :-) But my teenage heart ache was not for Jas Arora. Wait I am coming there.. My father had found a job in Mysore as a General Manager in a  Capacitor  producing factory and we shifted to Mysore when I was just 10 year old. Rest of my father's side family were in Bangalore itself. During my 12th year, I had joined Mysore's famous high school called Marimallappa's High school (hoping I would get a state rank in my 10th standard, this hope then I did not realize ...

No generalization, silly!!

I am not generalizing here, but I personally feel and have experienced that >most< European men are gentlemen than Indian men. They make way for me, they open the door for me. On streets, men in cars stop when I am crossing the road for me to pass.  These are very small things but still make such huge impact on human relations and our perception on other species . In India, most men in higher posi tions treat women like >things to be discarded< kind. (I wonder how these men behave in their personal lives) These kind of men have no respect for an individual. Even now Indian men treat women as an "item".  I feel very bad to be pointing out this that I have met a very few Indian men who are decent and gentlemanly!  Most Indian men I have met are Chauvinistic in their ways!   This  unfortunately  or fortunately do not get along with my nature since I am highly individualistic person. I do not know whether it is my bad luck that I have met more...

My Review of a movie!

Phir Hera Pheri: My humble opinion about this movie: 1) Rimi Sen face was rather looking bigger than her body with kilograms of make up. I wonder how a girl who lost everything can apply loads of make up and curl her hair and how in Mumbai's "dhoop" it all remains the same even if she is running or eating, no sweating nothing, amazing!  Even Bipasha Basu, she has no acting skills nor the director  has made any effort to take it out somehow. She is running with her heels on!!  It looks like these days bollywood movies wants women to be present only as an "Item number" is it so?. 1970's hindi movies like "Kashmir ki kali" and "An evening in Paris" also had rather insignificant roles for heroines, But then they were there in the movies as "Dolls" and now  heroines are there as "items".  Pity this is happening in a country which worships Goddesses for strength and power, knowledge and wisdom and money and luck.  (A...

Experiencing Holland with Kiran

Image
Kiran had visited me in Holland on 26 th of January and had stayed till 29 th of January and we had planned to visit Rotterdam during his visit and a stroll and walk through Dordrecht bridge and streets. 27 th of January: On this day I had to go to work since it was a working day and I did not want to apply leave since I had transition work to be completed and it was the start of “month end closure”. So I left the day at around 15.00 pm and had planned it out with Kiran to meet near to the place where we stay and had ordered taxi to take us to the Dordrecht Bridge. I was excited since the day unlike previous days was very sunny and I thought it was a good day for a stroll and photography and I was not disappointed. We walked for around 2 hours. Here are some pictures from this walk The walk was magnificent. Holland people are crazy about bikes (bicycles) and why not the country is flat and it is easy to ride them, even to work during any weat...
