I think I’m becoming my mother-in-law

I was going through the headlines in "Telegraph" which said "I think I’m becoming my mother-in-law ". I just started relating myself with this today.

Long time ago ( just 3.5 years) when I got married, I was staying with my in-laws as Kiran had to return back to Czech Republic. I was waiting for my VISA to join him there as I was going on Work permit. In the span of 2005 March to 2006 May, I had mixed kind of experiences with my in-laws. Since I was from different family values( from a very strict, very silent, very conservative and very orthodox), I used to find most of what my Mother-in-law used to say, very very interesting. My Mother-in-law had a very good sense of Humour, which I used to like a lot. Most of her jokes used to have a tinge of sarcasm in them.

She used to say that Kiran (my one and only husband and her one and only son) used to watch BBC like crazy, and that he used to listen to it until midgnight when he was young ( dont forget that time there were no MP3 players and had to listen radio). She used to get so irritated by this behaviour his that she used to shout it seems "cant somebody do something, so that BBC closes itself off and that we will get some sound and peaceful sleep??!!!!!". [I request all the readers to remember this phrase here]

My mother-in-law and Father-in-Law every evening used to go to shopping complex( Jayanagar shopping complex) and bring fresh vegetables and some groceries as required.
One evening when we were watching a program in NDTV called " Walk the talk", she started telling that they(in-laws) are so popular in the market in the shopping complex that shop keepers when my Father-in-law sometimes used to go alone, used to tell him that they(my In-laws) are such nice couple, they go "together" everywhere and that people should learn from them.
Then she started again, here we are watching "walk the talk", but people who see us going together do not understand that we are actually "walk the Quarrelling"! and after listening to this, you will not believe, i started laughing so badly that I did not stop till I went to sleep.

Nowadays, Kiran's interests for news everywhere in this entire world has made me very "MAD" myself. On sundays, there is a program on Czech News channel, where a reporter here ( whom the politicians here are scared of ) keeps up interiew with all kind of politicians, leaving nobody. This program lasts for almost 2 hours( yes 2 hours!!!!). This irritates me because, 1. I dont understand Czech.
2. I cant watch my types of programs on television.
Today(a sunday again), as usual he was watching the same program, I was trying to concentrate on whatever I was doing (trust me I was pissed off, as I was planning to watch a movie). Then he started another part( which im explaining now) , the part where he explains what they were discussing on the same program. Some times (or most of the time) I listen with whatever interest I have. Today( I think the irritation level had reached its peak) I started shouting at him, telling why cant you see that news yourself and spurted out "why cant somebody do something to stop this program so that I can have a peaceful time here??!!!" ( this is the decentest version actually..:-) ). So now you all can just relate what I asked you all to remember, a phrase from my Mother-in-law in one of the above paragraphs.
Then suddenly I saw that Kiran was surprised to see me "spurt" out the same kind reaction like his mother's and it also stuck me that I had spurted out the valcano the same way as my Mother-in-law said she was doing. Then me and Kiran had a hearty laugh( not that Kiran realised he should stop watching such irritating programs).

I then realised how I am slowly starting to behave like my Mother-in-law at certain times and felt like sharing this sense of "humour" with you all..:-)

Cheers..
Bhavana
