Political Scams and Social Networks!!!

2G Spectrum Scam:

Barkhagate or SanghviGate issue is under a fire on some social communities like Twitter and Facebook.

After reading conversations of the tapes (published by both Open Magazine and Outlook), I would like to quote an opinion by Salil Tripathi.
" To state the obvious first: This is not Barkhagate or Sanghvigate, it is Rajagate, or Radiagate.
Journalists who appear larger than life in their media profile play a small part here—as willing go-betweens, ferrying messages between politicians at Radia’s (and in effect her powerful corporate clients’) request. That isn’t illegal, nor is it necessarily corrupt. But it shows careless judgement and weakens the media’s credibility. "
- Salil Tripathi  at (http://www.livemint.com/2010/11/24211300/Over-the-thin-red-line.html)

I personally agree to what Salil has quoted above.
I feel that nobody is talking about real issue here which is 2G Spectrum Scam itself!
Anil Ambani was given the 2G spectrum in a very suspicious way and we do not know why A Raja was made the Telecom Minister from DMK party instead of somebody else from the same party? Why did DMK agree to make A Raja as Telecom Minister in the first place?
Was it because A. Raja might have had some connections to Anil Ambani before he was selected by DMK as Telecom Minister and hence Anil Ambani lobbied or bribed the party (DMK) for A. Raja to become the Telecom Minister to get the 2G spectrum for himself?

My concern is:

Is it the business men like Anil Ambani who is running country by bribing the politicians or the politicians themselves? If this is the case then its a huge issue!
This is indeed a very complicated situation and sidelining the main issue by highlighting meagre issues such as Barkhagate and Sanghvigate(as done on Social networks) will be of no help in trying to hit corruption!

We Indians have this habit of comparing journalist or anyone else for that matter who is at the peak of their careers to Gods and when something like this happens we crush them under our heels.
This extremity is appalling!! There is no black or white in this but only shades of grey.
They are journalists and just doing their job. Nobody is spotlessly clean anywhere in this world.

My concern is not just this but the main issue which is 2G Spectrum scam itself and how many of Indians know about this in detail?
If we are trying to propagate one issue (through social networks) then it is also our responsibility as "citizen journalists" (as some call themselves so) to educate the "lazy" ones with the REAL issue too. Because in the end we as citizens will be voting isn’t it? Hence everyone is impacted badly if there is bad governance.

I am seeing lot of trend in India that everyone wants readymade news and fast fast news.
I personally feel nobody can get proper news until it is heard from different journals. Because each journals have different political views (if you know what political views means that is!!) and no journal's opinion is the best. A journal presents their views on some issue, it is up to us citizens to try and make a sensible conclusion on the same.

In a tank full of stinking mud, some people on the social networks like twitter and facebook are paying attention only to the dead leaves floating on top. Both rot. But, it is the mud that stinks! Nobody seems to be speaking about A Raja and the Scam at all.

NOTE: I am not in favour of anyone here including the journalists in question. I am just conveying my opinions on this Scam.
