This is written for the "Sleepy Sunday Contest – II" by Weblog in which we are asked to write based on the picture below: Woman until very recently was made to think she was meant to be within the four walls. Even history quoted that her individuality was restrained within four walls in general and inside the kitchen in particular. She until very recently was considered a Man’s property and this is true for many even now. This dependence might be due to several reasons and I would like to highlight two of the most obvious: 1) Woman wanted herself to be under Man’s rule because it was her family Tradition OR 2) She was forced to be Man’s property by the Society, since it was called “Culture” >built< by the society. Birthday cravings

“What do you want for your birthday?” he asked “A smartphone” I replied to him. Kiran rolled his eyes again as we had had this discussion for about four or five times during this year. Each time we had had this discussion, Kiran had opened my eyes to the ‘fact’ that a smartphone was a waste of time and money. In fact several times during our debates, he had pronounced that smartphone was a waste not just for myself, but for both of us. This had brought tears to my eyes with thoughts of ‘togetherness’. So he asked this question this week as my birthday was just a few days away. When he got the same answer from me, he said "All right, how about this? Check the smartphones your friends have, try them and then tell me if you still wish to buy one?" So, I told my saga to my friend and she said she wanted to take a look at my mobile first. Teenage Heartache? Or was it?? Part 2

Find Part 1 here My newly found uncle became quite close to us and we started to visit each other during festivals and functions and so on. My uncle speaks a lot and and my family was silent lot and used to just smile and nod to whatever he used to say. My aunt is a sweet lady and very soft spoken and also used to pull my uncle's leg sometimes which used to give me quite a laugh! My uncle had also introduced me to one of the famous singer in Mysore Dr. R. N Srilatha with whom I started to learn senior lessons in carnatic music. So whenever I used to visit my uncle and aunt, my job was to sing for them. I was more than happy to do so...
