Shameful situation!!!!

In a country where caste and class system has dominated for centuries and due to which only top crust of the society got the so called "education" and the rest of the society were restricted in obtaining education from the beginning the society has formed.

This society has being living like this for few centuries now by restricting the low castes from getting education and population of this castes/class have been higher or it seems so.

This seems to be the same even today in 21st century. I wonder why those so called low castes people did not do revolution against the so called upper castes people? No idea!!
When I mean by education I mean to get education by proper means and not by quota as it is today. So the problem according to me is two hold and on both sides. Most upper castes took advantage of lower castes people and those lower castes people were content to get treated like that or I have read that some were forced to be treated like this! Shame!

Now, we are in 21st century and we think we are becoming “educated” society. But are we? Does education means only getting our degrees and going to jobs which is done more for earning money than out of career satisfaction? Do we become smart and cultured with only a degrees in hand? I doubt it!

So is this society based on a firm foundation? Hmm, I have my doubts!

Most parents wants their children to study only to get a good job and to earn money and to look after them in their old age. Hence they want their children to study only that profession which the parents want! Is this healthy way of doing it in a long term? I personally do not think so. (Read my post on Indian education)
Parents struggle hard to give such education and save money for their children without enjoying their own lives. Hence they expect their children to continue with the trend! Wonderful!!

Now, we have been living in a country which is largest democracy in the world. But I feel that the mood of most of the masses in this society is turning like – "democracy will only produce corrupt people as politicians and Bureaucrats, so we need authoritarian".

But how do they know that Democracy only will produce such corrupt people?
Have they seen Kolkota's situation where Marxist and socialist party had ruled for nearly 3-4 decades and what is its situation? Do they know how Communists had stamped out the society in Europe and had downgraded the economy and how people in Europe had to do major revolutions to kick out Nazis and communists and make their society with freedom of speech and freedom to do what they want and to make their countries a booming economy? Do we want to live a century behind Europeans??

Does these people who now think that authoritarian rule might make our country's politicians and bureaucrats disciplined, have read the fact that China (which is led by communists) is equally or more corrupt than India?
How on earth can these people understand these facts or give a thought about these when they do not even know their own history, a history where our Constitutional fathers had struggled hard to make India a free society?

Is living a good life is as simple watching bollywood movies with popcorn for 3 hours or watching cricket matches??

How many think about future generation and its wellness?? We Indians have LONG way to go!!!

  1. Bhavana, Indeed shameful and there are multiple reasons like insatiable greed, not having the right values for rich and lack of education and even basic wherewithal to exist among the poor!
